Winter Dance Series at the Spencer Creek Grange
Spencer Creek Grange – 8601 Lorane Highway in Eugene
Saturday, March 14th
Doors at 7, live music and dancing from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Admission $10-15 sliding scale. All ages.
If you haven’t been able to catch any of our Winter dance series yet, you still have time to join us for the last one! We will have live tunes with the Golden “Swine” Stringband (a subset of our Golden Twine house band!) and Melissa Takush calling. Celebrate the end of winter with us—warm music, lively dancing, and good company.
Our grange dances have been popular, so plan to arrive early—dance space is limited. Carpooling is encouraged to help with parking. If the floor is full when you arrive, you’re welcome to hang out downstairs with snacks and drinks until there’s room to dance.
No experience, partner, or special clothes needed—the caller teaches everything and we use gender-free calls so everyone can find their place on the floor. Let’s send winter out with hot tunes, chaotic dancing, and good company.

Mud City Old-Time Society is dedicated to supporting old-time music and dance in the Southern Willamette Valley. We are a progressive, inclusive community that sponsors concerts, workshops, jams and square dances open to people from any background and experience level. If you are interested in the power of participatory music and social dance, we invite you to come play and dance with us!
Music for Everyone
As a precursor to bluegrass, old-time string band music is acoustic and lively. We host concerts, workshops and a variety of jams that welcome new players just getting started, as well as more experienced players wanting to play more up to speed.
Have a Dance With Us
Our square dances always feature live bands as well as callers who teach everything you need to know on the spot. You don’t need any special clothes or even a partner—there will be plenty of fun folks to dance with. Check out our events to learn more!
